|The Vogalonga is an act of love for Venice and a important event to rowers from all over the world. Since 1974 it has taken place in Venice on Sunday in May or June. On this day, all the motor boats in the lagoon are replaced with rowing boats.
Each year Vogalonga involves more than 6.000 people and 1.600 boats.
The boats reach many significant locations including the Basin of San Marco, Canal Grande, and on towards the islands of Burano and Murano, finally coming back to Venice along the Canal Grande and ending at "Madonna della Salute".
Either as participator or spectator, the Vogalonga is a great occasion for discovering and becaming acquainting with Venice.
